On top of attempting to acclimatise to single life once again following her shock divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is worrying about her children.

The mother-of-two – who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with dancer ex-husband Marc Anthony – filed for divorce back in April, but news of her split from the Gone Girl actor only hit headlines in August.

Citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ in official court documentation, Lopez was later seen moving out of the plush Beverly Hills home they bought together.

Speaking to press in her first big interview since the split, the 55-year-old described her separation from 52-year-old Affleck as the ‘hardest time’ of her life, adding: “You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t.

“And then, this summer, I had to be like, ‘I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'”

Unfortunately for J.Lo, she wasn’t given much of a chance to grieve the relationship, being that she and Affleck have been forced to continue working with one another on sport biopic Unstoppable, in which Lopez stars and Affleck produces.

Despite being able to put a brave face on when asked about the divorce during the film’s red carpet premier recently – telling a reporter, ‘Um, I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful’ – it seems Lopez still has one concern she’s harbouring behind the scenes.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly this week, whilst promoting her latest acting project – where she plays the single mother to a disabled wrestler named Anthony – she let fans in on her own worries.

“I’ve been a single mom at times in my life, and [I’ve asked,] ‘Am I enough for them?’” she confessed.

“And the truth is, all you need is really one good parent to love you. You hear it in Anthony’s voice, and look what he’s been able to accomplish,” Lopez added of the wrestling champ.

“That’s what the movie gave me: You are enough.”

J. Lo divorced her second husband Marc Anthony in 2012, eight years after first tying the knot.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show earlier this year, she discussed her decision to cancel her ‘This Is Me… Live’ concert tour following her split, so as to ensure her children adjust appropriately to their new life without Affleck.

“I decided to take the summer off and be home with the kids and it was the best thing I think I’ve ever done,” she admitted at the time.

“It’s not like me to do that and when it comes up, I like to apologize to the fans because I know a lot of them were coming out,” she added.

Affleck himself is father to three children, all of whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

The Argo director recently enjoyed a reunion with his former flame, as they worked together at a homelessness campaign on Skid Row.
